About

Ava Scoccia, PT, DPT

Growing up as a ballet dancer, Ava recognized the gaps in education around body awareness and pelvic health as a whole. As she continued to hold space for this conversation among all age ranges, she became aware of the interconnectedness of each of our body systems, and how the pelvic floor can play a pivotal role in individuals’ daily function and quality of life.

Ava is passionate about working with all individuals across the age spectrum, with clinical interests in pediatric pelvic health, incontinence, gender affirming care, pregnancy and postpartum care, and sexual health and function. As a former preschool teacher, she brings a trauma-informed approach to working with children and their families, aiming to provide the tools they need to eliminate barriers and encourage participation in all activities.

Ava believes that pelvic health should be accessible and inclusive. She strives to create a safe, affirming, and collaborative environment where individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientation feel understood, respected, and empowered to communicate their perspectives and learn more about their bodies as they embark on a journey to explore the ways in which we can heal through movement and other holistic intervention strategies.

Outside the clinic, Ava pursues the connection between art and movement by teaching barre classes, attending pilates, making art (collage and watercolor are her favorites!), or taking walks in nature.
